Rejuvelac
Rejuvelac is an excellent tonic for the entire system. It is made from sprouted wheat berries and it particularly benefits the intestines and the colon. It is rich in natural enzymes and goes a long way in replacing the flora and fauna of the intestines, which have been lost due to the consumption of antibiotics.
Ingredients:
2 Cups Raw Wheat Berries
Distilled or Filtered Water
You will also need:
Bowl (large enough to soak the wheat berries)
Colander
2-3 Wide Mouthed Glass Jars (Mason Jars work well)
Storage Pitcher
Directions:
Soak wheat berries in a bowl with enough distilled or purified water to cover. Let soak for 24 hours at room temperature, drain and rinse, let them sit in colander to sprout, rinsing the berries at least 2 times daily. Let them sprout for 2 days or until the little tails appear. Once berries are sprouted, rinse them in filtered or distilled water and drain. Take the sprouted berries and fill jars about ΒΌ full and then fill the jar with room temp filtered or distilled water and cover with a tight fitting lid. Let sit in a warm place for 12-24 hours, lightly shaking the jars every now and then. After the 12-24 hours (depending on how strong you like it) strain out the wheat berries, letting them air out for 2 hours or so and start all over again.
You can use the same berries 3 times! Each time you use them the Rejuvelac gets stronger and stronger. Store the liquid in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks. You can add fresh organic lemon to the liquid for flavor before storing.
